- Pros and cons of choosing between motocross/supercross vs building/riding old school choppers?
I've been having some trouble with choosing which hobby/passion to choose from: riding motocross/supercross or building and riding old school choppers. I love motorcycles and I love the feeling that you get from them. I want something that would give me the biggest adrenaline rush and freedom that I could have and do it for as long as possible. I also love to travel! I thought about doing motocross/supercross but then I hear about how injuries are pretty common and I wouldnt want to end my passion for riding so soon. Then I love old school choppers, the way they look and the power they have, and how you could take them for traveling (if they are functional and comfortable, I'm planning to make my choppers functional and comfortable, but just as adrenaline pumping as possible). I just want to choose the right passion and get the most out of it ( especially that freedom of riding and adrenaline rush), the one that will open doors for me in life, and the one that I could do for the longest (since I love riding). So what are the pros and cons between riding motocross/supercross and riding/building old school choppers? Also what would you choose and explain why just so I could see the reasoning behind it? I know both passions could be very expensive but I want to choose the one that is worth it in the long run and stick to it mostly. Thanks!
A For me, hands down would be the chopper. I could see where motocross would be fun, (I used to ride a 4 wheeler on a dirt track). But, you are limited to where and when you can ride. With a dirt bike, you have to load it up and transport it to where you are going to have a good time. On a chopper, the good time starts as soon as you pull out of the driveway. Motorcycles are about the journey, not the destination. Just my opinion, but whatever you decide, enjoy the ride!
