- Has anyone ever rebuilt a salvage motorcycle and retitled it in Nebraska or other state?
I bought a salvage Harley, and I am replacing the frame and turning it into a chopper. Does anyone have any experience with having a bike inspected? Will the new title be a salvage title? Or will it be a regular title, with previous salvage? Thanks. I have found the forms from the state DMV website, but was wondering how the inspection process is?
A I live in Nebraska and at one time had considered buying a rebuilt bike from out of state. I contacted the inspection office and they told me I would first need to get the title switched to a Nebraska salvage titile. Then I could get it inspected. If it passed inspection I would then get a Nebraska rebuilt title. If the bike already has a Nebraska salvage title, I would assume that after you get it inspected you would then be able to get a rebuild title.

- Looking for DMV registered Garage Licensed to Inspect Salvage Motorcycles for Registration Purposes?
My wife's 2002 Harley 883 Sportster was totalled when a lady blew a stop sign and caused my wife to T-Bone her SUV. We have since had it repaired, and even a DOT required Safety Inspection. We went to, O School Choppers, to do the inspection, and after getting the Salvage Title, went to DMV. We found out that O School Choppers, let their License expire, but still did the inspection and charged us for it a full 21 days after the license expired. So now we have to go through all this, again. 1st, any idea how to go about getting a refund from O School Choppers? and 2nd, Anyone know of a RELIABLE and CURRENTLY Licensed Garage that will do a DOT Safety Inspection for a Salvage Title? Thank you much! Updated 2150 hrs on 6/11 DMV told me that they could not suggest a shop or garage for us to go to, that we just needed to try and find one.
